Mary P. Sullivan
Mary P. Sullivan, a Bay Area native, is a 1993 graduate (with Honors) of the Walter F. George School of Law, Mercer University. Mary is admitted to practice in both California and Georgia. In 1993, Mary began her practice with Buafo & Gomez, a civil rights and criminal defense firm in Macon, Georgia, where she first and second chaired felony burglary, murder and assault cases. In addition, Mary represented several clients, including members of the Macon Police Department, in civil rights and discrimination cases.
In 1995, Mary became an associate with Bowles & Verna. Mary specializes in business and employment counseling and litigation. Mary provides on-going training and advice in the areas of employee-employer relations, discrimination, harassment, proper termination practices and wage-hour issues. Mary conducts a full range of on-site training for executives and managers, covering such issues as preventing and investigating claims of discrimination or harassment in the work place and building and maintaining a hostile free work environment. Mary has arbitrated, mediated and/or tried employment discrimination, wrongful termination and professional breach of fiduciary duty cases. Mary is an active member of the ABA, California and Contra Costa Bar Association's Labor and Employment Law Sections.
