Biography
Manuel is an associate with broad-ranging civil litigation experience. He currently serves our Products Liability, General Business Disputes, and Complex Civil Litigation teams. He supports our team's active litigation throughout the country in both federal and state courts.
Prior to joining Bowles & Verna, he was the managing attorney at a boutique immigration firm. His work experience includes a judicial clerkship with the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas and general litigation involving criminal defense, personal injury, and arbitration. After finishing law school in Pennsylvania and practicing in Philadelphia, Manuel relocated to his home state of California.
When he is not in the office, he enjoys paddling out to surf mid-sized waves, playing guitar, and keeping up with his wife on long, strenuous hikes.

- Successful Daubert Motion to Exclude plaintiff’s Experts and Motion for Summary Judgment dismissing plaintiff’s lawsuit in U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona
- Obtained summary adjudication of plaintiff’s consumer fraud claim (i.e., false advertisement) in U.S. District Court for the District of Illinois
- Coordinated multimillion unit consumer product recall with Mexico’s Consumer Protection Agency (Procuraduria Federal del Consumidor a.k.a. Profeco), concurrently involving U.S.’s Consumer Product Safety Commission and Canada’s Health Canada administration
- Successfully opposed defendant's Motion for Protective Order and obtained sanctions
- Dissolved Temporary Restraining Order against Amazon seller for alleged copyright infringement which had frozen inventory, Amazon accounts, and assets (worth hundreds of thousands of dollars)
- Successful defense outcome for hand tools manufacturer of alleged Proposition 65 violations
